Seven Types of Email Templates

Seven Types of Email Templates

There  are 7 email templates every business or organization will eventually need. It is advisable you get these templates already built so that they can be available when you need them.

  1. Your Monthly (or Quarterly) Newsletter Template: This is the one you send out to the general public who opted-in for your company news. The standard design format is  a 2-column layout, such that you can put self-gratuitous promotions in the side column and have the main column filled with useful content.
  2. Company Letterhead Template: This is usually used for rare announcement such as pricing changes, shipping problems, billing errors,  “system is temporarily down” alerts or anything as may be applicable to your business or organization.
  3. Special Promotions Template: This is useful when  you have big, splashy product photographs to promote. This is usually design in form of postcard
  4. Holiday E-card Template: This can be a variation of the postcard template. It is to be designed with nice graphic that would reflect the holiday season.
  5. Event (e-vite) Template: This is useful when you want to invite  people to a company event.
  6. Event Followup Template: This is used  after your event has taken place, and you want to thank your attendees for coming. You might include a link to an online feedback survey and you might include digital photos from the event.
  7. Internal Newsletter Template: This is used mainly for sending internal newsletters to your staff.

Building Your Email Mailing List

Building Your Email Mailing List

Increasing your opt-in list of targeted email clients is the most important email marketing strategy you can use. Your email list is actually a group of potential “sales leads” and you should treat expanding your email list as one of your most important marketing activities, second only to creating your web site.

The more effort you put into developing your email list, the more potential customers you will have. Conversely, if you fail to collect email addresses, your online business growth will halt.

Seven Rules of Email Marketing

Seven Rules of Email Marketing

Email Rule Number One: Never, Ever, Ever, SPAM

Most likely, you’ve received SPAM, or unsolicited email, at some point (it seems to start just hours after creating your first email account). You may have even considered sending out a nice, friendly email to some of your customers, to let them know about your latest product or discount, and wondered if this is okay.

But if they haven’t given you PERMISSION to email them, it’s SPAM. And that friendly little email could get you into a lot of trouble (even if it’s just to a few people), and can create a very negative impression of you and your online business.

Top 5 Things Not to Do on Facebook

Top 5 Things Not to Do on Facebook

1. Having 2 Profiles: Personal and Professional

Not only do you not want to have two profiles (I'll explain why), but also if Facebook catches you, they will shut your account down. Now, you really don't want to have two profiles because, honestly, do you want to have two accounts to update all the time? On top of that, how are you going to determine the line between the two accounts - which account will you show to your friends from work or your college roommate who now works in your industry? The lines between personal and professional worlds are blurring and you should be transparent and confident enough to let them blur. Sure, you may not want your boss seeing photos of you drinking in college. But Facebook has amazing privacy settings that you can customize so your professional connections are limited to what they can see on your account. There is no reason you need to have two separate accounts.
